After obtaining a photography degree as a mature student, I realised a long held dream of a trip along the Silk Road. The images on this page are an extract from a 2 week exhibition at The KUBE - formerly the Study Gallery, Poole in November 2008.

I travelled on public transport overland across Northern China from Beijing to Kashgar, Xianjiang, through Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Iran, which was one of the most hospitable countries I've ever been to. After this I lived in Egypt for just under a year, attempting to learn Arabic, before returning to England to start my photography business.
